These splendid looking floor coverings are made from different vintage Anatolian (Turkish) rugs sheared low to give a worn out look, and to reduce the strength of the designs in original rugs.

They are then overdyed in large bowls with boiling spring water and natural dyes in solid colours, and then the pieces for the patchwork rugs are cut in squares or rectangles, edges hand stitched all around.

Next comes the sewing onto a thick fabric so they now consist of a single rug, with varying tones of a particular colour, a mix of different colours or a neutral, undyed, earthy/sandy coloured rug in the size and colour tone combination that a client requires.

Cost is just £14 per square foot for orders above 40 square feet, and £15 per square foot for lesser sizes.

Very large single piece rugs are sometimes available that can be overdyed in your choice of colour, at £17 per square foot.
