Sgt James Harry “Ginger” Lacey a marble bust.

James Harry Lacey, DFM & Bar, was a highly successful fighter pilot for the Royal Air Force during the Second World War.

He ranked as one of the top scorers in the RAF and was second only to Pilot Officer Eric Lock of No. 41 Squadron RAF in terms of kills during the Battle of Britain.

Lacey’s impressive record includes the destruction of 28 enemy aircraft, as well as five probables and nine damaged aircraft.

He was born on February 1st, 1917, and passed away on May 30th, 1989.
