Ludwig van Beethoven, a marble bust.

Ludwig van Beethoven (1770-1827) was a German composer and pianist, widely considered as one of the greatest composers in the Western classical music tradition.

Born in Bonn, he began his musical career as a child prodigy, learning the piano and violin from his father and other local musicians.

He moved to Vienna, Austria, in his early twenties, where he studied under prominent composers of the time, including Joseph Haydn and Johann Georg Albrechtsberger.

Beethoven’s musical output is vast and includes nine symphonies, five piano concertos, one violin concerto, thirty-two piano sonatas, sixteen string quartets, one opera, and many other works across a wide range of genres.

His music bridged the Classical and Romantic periods, and he is known for his bold innovations in form and harmony, as well as his powerful emotional expressiveness.

Height 29cm. Weight 3.5kg.
