Queen Victoria, a marble bust.

Queen Victoria was the Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland from 1837 to 1901. She was born on May 24, 1819, and ascended to the throne at the age of 18, after the death of her uncle, King William IV.

She is known for her long reign, which lasted for 63 years and seven months, making her the longest-reigning monarch in British history until she was surpassed by Queen Elizabeth II in 2015.

She was married to her cousin, Prince Albert, and they had nine children together. Queen Victoria oversaw many important events during her reign, including the Industrial Revolution, the growth of the British Empire, and the expansion of constitutional monarchy.

She died on January 22, 1901, and was succeeded by her son, King Edward VII.
