Apollo Belvedere Marble Bust

, ,

Apollo Belvedere, a marble bust.

In Greek mythology, Apollo was the god of the sun, music, poetry, prophecy, and healing.

He was the son of Zeus, the king of the gods, and Leto, a titaness. Apollo was known for his beauty, youthfulness, and musical ability, and was often depicted playing a lyre.

He was also associated with archery, and was said to have slain the Python, a giant serpent that lived near Delphi, where he established his famous oracle.

Apollo was worshipped throughout the ancient Greek world, and many temples were dedicated to him, including the Temple of Apollo at Delphi, which was considered the center of the world by the ancient Greeks.

This bust makes a great pair when twinned with the bust of Diana. Price discounted for the pair. Please click here to view.
