Parrots “Close Friends” Marble Sculpture

After Heinrich Hahnel (1823-1909) a German sculptor known for his exceptional animal sculptures, these two parrots titled “Close Friends” are a prime example of his mastery.

Hahnel worked for a renowned china company in Dresden while also taking private commissions.

He was recognized for his unique technique, which allowed him to create incredibly realistic renditions of animals, complete with intricate fur and feather details.

Hahnel’s most prized creations were cast in fine bronze and remain highly sought after by collectors to this day. “Close Friends,” a vibrant and lively pair of parrots, showcase Hahnel’s skillful craftsmanship with their crisp and exquisite detailing.
