Napoleon Bonaparte, originally named Napoleone Buonaparte, was a renowned French military commander and political figure. He gained prominence during the French Revolution and achieved victories in several campaigns of the Revolutionary Wars. From 1799 to 1804, he held the position of First Consul and effectively governed the French Republic. He subsequently became Emperor of the French from 1804 until 1814 and regained power briefly in 1815.
