A Marble Bust Of Julius Caesar, Roman Emperor.

Gaius Julius Caesar, born on July 12th, 100 BC and assassinated on March 15th, 44 BC, was a prominent Roman general and statesman.

He was part of the First Triumvirate and commanded the Roman armies during the Gallic Wars.

After a civil war with his political adversary Pompey, Caesar emerged victorious and became the dictator of Rome from 49 BC until his death.

His actions were instrumental in the collapse of the Roman Republic and the subsequent rise of the Roman Empire.
